About

I’m Stasia Greenewalt. For more than 25 years I’ve worked alongside farmers, food businesses, and food system organizations—farming, teaching, building programs, and supporting growers across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic.

My work sits at the intersection of food safety, market access, and real-world operations. I help producers, processors, food hubs, and regional organizations build systems that meet requirements, support growth, and actually work in practice. That might mean developing a food safety program, preparing for an audit, designing a new workflow, or thinking through how food moves from farms to markets.

What draws me to this work is helping people sort through complexity. Food safety, regulations, and market requirements can feel opaque and intimidating—but they don’t have to be. I believe that when these systems are built thoughtfully and integrated into daily operations, they become tools for clarity, confidence, and long-term stability.

My background is in biology and farming, and I bring that blend of education and on-the-ground perspective to every project. I’m trained as a Harmonized GAP auditor and a Produce Safety Alliance instructor for FSMA’s Produce Safety Rule, and I’ve led USDA-funded projects focused on developing tools and programming to support small, independent farms.

At the end of the day, I care deeply about agriculture and the people who make it possible—and about helping them build operations that feel manageable, resilient, and aligned with their goals.
